How much does it cost?

Fees for the 2019 course, which include lunch, tea and coffee, are as follows:

  • £190 to attend Day 1 only (Dementia Basics)
  • £380 to attend both Days 2 & 3 (more advanced subjects)
  • £550 to attend the full 3 day course

Please note: Overnight accommodation is not included in the fees. See information about accommodation on Venue page.

Can I pay by credit card?

Sorry, no, there is no provision for payment by credit card nor via the website. Please arrange to pay by cheque or banker’s draft. Payment must be made in Sterling. Alternatively payment may be made by BACS. Please contact the course administrator for bank details if you wish to pay this way.

Who do I make the cheque out to?

Cambridge Dementia Course.

May I have a receipt for my fees?

Yes, a receipt will be emailed to you. A hard copy will be made available on request.

Can I book a provisional place?

Your application should normally be accompanied by a cheque and preference is always given to applications accompanied by the full fee. However, you may request that your name be put provisionally on the list, and the place will be held for one week. Please note that your place is not guaranteed until your cheque has arrived.

May I stay the night before?

Yes. The rate for a single room at Homerton College is £88.80 (£74.00 + VAT) per person per night, including breakfast. This must be booked directly on-line via the venue, at least 48 hours before your arrival date. Please note that dinner is not available the night before the course.

Can I park at Homerton?

Yes, there is a free car park at Homerton, however please note that this year owing to building works the car park will be much reduced in size compared to previous years so please consider alternative means of transport.

Start and finish times?

Timings will be similar to previous years: Registration will open on Wednesday at 9.00am with a welcome cup of coffee, with the first session at 9.30am. The day finishes about 5.30pm. Thursday: registration 8.30am, first lecture at 9.00am, finishing about 5.30pm. Friday: 9.00 – 4.30pm.

I have special dietary needs – eg vegetarian, vegan, no beef … Can these be catered for?

Yes, no problem. Please indicate any special needs on the application form.


The course is accredited with the Royal College of Physicians at 6 points per day, thus attendance for day 1 only: 6 points, days 2 and 3 only: 12 points, the full course: 18 points. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course.

What is your privacy policy?

Your data will be kept on a secure database and will be used solely for the purposes of your registration for the Cambridge Dementia Course and provision of necessary information about attending the course.
